This project was inspired by The London Underground and the dominant primary colours used throughout.
Lottie decided to look at The Memphis Movement and designed woven fabric samples to visualise a new Moquette design for the tube seating. As part of her research; Lottie also visited the London Transport Museum where she was inspired by the Moquettes and the history of their designs.
Lottie also incorporated a various plastic materials (plastic straws & bags) in her project to highlight the issue of single use plastics with the idea of making a fabric suitable for the seating on the tube with a surface easy enough to wipe over for efficiency when cleaning and prolonging the life of single use plastics.
