Colour Journeys

Natural Dyeing in Contemporary Practice. Early in 2018 twelve practitioners from different disciplines embarked on a year long course in natural dyeing at Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft led by expert Jenny Dean, one of the countries foremost natural dye practitioners. Using grown and foraged materials, they have experimented with different techniques to create a huge range of colours. This exhibition showcased how they integrated the use of these natural dyes and pigments into their work across practices ranging from weaving to sculpture and more.
