We were given a live brief from Dobert Textile group to create a collection of both Spring/Summer 17 Samples and Autumn/ Winter 17 Samples. As part of the brief we were asked to make two separate warps.

This was a group project and we were asked to choose a new trend from the WGSN website. Our group decided to choose Human- nature. We were also asked to have our own approach for this project and I chose to look at the photographs I had taken previously on a trip to Ireland, therefore my samples are mostly inspired by the natural landscapes, colours and textures in Ireland.

This project was set as a live brief and I was fortunate enough to win 2nd place where I gained a 3 month internship at the Dobert Textiles headquarters in Barcelona. This was a valuable placement where I was able to support the design team in a number of ways including creating mood boards and swatches, designing new fabric, organising and labelling yarns, archiving fabrics from previous collections, packing sample orders to be sent to clients and a general insight into putting my practical skills in the industry.  I gained a great understanding and insight into the businesses design and manufacturing process, and the worldwide market it supplies.
